WILHELM BRUCK-THEODOR ROSS

 
 

 
For the last thirty years, the guitarists Wilhelm Bruck and Theodor Ross have been performing at the most important music-theatre stages around the world.
 
Touring four continents, they have played for example at the Adelaide-Festival in Australia, the Bach-Festival in London, the Berliner Festwochen, the Biennale Munich, the Edinburgh-Festival, the Festival d´Automne-Paris, the Warsaw-Autumn and at DOCUMENTA IX Kassel.
 
Their program is characzerized by a consistent blending of music and stage art.
Mauricio Kagel, Helmut Lachenmann and other famous contemporary composers have written pieces for the Duo.Their recording of Helmut Lachenmann´s Salute for Caudwell received the German Records Award. They also premiered numerous works by Mauricio Kagel, many of which have been documented in radio and TV productions, as well as records and CDs.
 
Younger generations of composers have been inspired by the Duo to create new works for the Music Scenarios.

With the flautist Camilla Hoitenga Wilhelm Bruck and Theodor Ross foundet the TRIO AYA last year. Their first concert took place in Chicago with a première by Gene Coleman and Shoko Shida and compositions by John Cage and Mauricio Kagel.

February 2001: Wilhelm Bruck is engaged with diverse plucked instruments to go on tour with the voice artist Isabeella Beumer and her Ensemble.

August 2001: Theodor Ross will become director of the theatre in Zeitz.
